P.J. Bock, Staff Writer Wabasso Standard Wabasso, Minn.
Editor’s note: Wabasso (Minn.) Healthcare Center recently named its March 2005 Resident of the Month and Employee of the Month.
Resident of the Month—Jerry Jefson
Automobiles and the outdoors are two of Jerry Jefson's passions. For many years, the Wabasso Healthcare Center's March “Resident of the Month” worked on auto parts in both Minneapolis and Worthington. A native of LaCrosse, Wis., Jefson went to schools in that town.
As well as cars, the outdoors is a passion for Jerry. He noted, “I like hunting and photography," adding, "I like taking pictures of animals." He also pointed out that he doesn't have a favorite animal to hunt or take a picture of.
When asked what his favorite part of being at the Wabasso Healthcare Center was, the facility's staff came to mind. "I like all the help I'm receiving," he stated.
Employee of the Month—Jane Geske
Jane Geske, a nursing assistant at the Wabasso Healthcare Center, describes her position as "a little bit of everything." Even though the type of job may vary, it all leads to one goal: helping the residents. "My favorite part about my job is taking care of the residents," she noted.
Geske, who has been employed at the Wabasso Healthcare Center for nearly 17 years, was named their "Employee of the Month" for March. When she's not helping residents, the rural Lamberton native likes to go shopping, as well as reading and baking. However, she doesn't have any favorites. "I like almost anything," she explained.
