Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is the treatment of speech and communication disorders. The approach used depends on the disorder. It may include physical exercises to strengthen the muscles used in speech (oral-motor work), speech drills to improve clarity, or sound production practice to improve articulation.

Our speech-language pathologists help people with certain health problems, such as a stroke, to re-train the muscles in the mouth and throat so they can speak and eat properly.

Following a stroke or other injury, he or she will work one-on-one with you or your loved one to regain functional communication in a variety of ways—speaking, listening, writing, reading, gesturing, etc. Establishing successful communication can dramatically improve recovery.

Other activities provided by the speech-language pathologist to improve daily interaction include swallowing therapy, methods for communicating with the hearing impaired and cognitive retraining.
